In 1972 Speed World Inc., in Union, NJ opened its doors. A one man shop, Ron Murphy worked on everything from carburetors to rotors and everything in between. His business was doing so well that he needed more room for his machines and products and moved into his current location at 1400 Stuyvesant Ave in Union.

As the years went on, customers demands changed. People wanted stock parts in addition to speed equipment and at that time Napa Auto Parts was called to fulfill that need.

We have combine three businesses into one - speed shop, machine shop and regular auto parts store. We are now Napa Auto Parts/Speed World Machine.

Ron, President, was always interested in the way machines and cars worked from a young age. In high school, he could always be found "under the hood" and was involved in several auto mechanics clubs in school. Ron's education grew even wider while enrolled at Montclair State University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Business.
